Thank you to all of our members who took the time to fill out our member survey earlier this month. The data is helpful to us as we plan the editorial calendar for the Craft Industry Alliance Journal, choose webinar topics and book club books, and generally think about what our members need and want most from the organization.

136 of our 694 members filled out the survey. Here are the highlights:

• 54% have been in business for 4 years or more; only 7% for less than a year
• 90% do not have an up-to-date business plan
• Of the webinar topics we proposed, strategic planning was the most popular topic.
• 81% do not have any employees; another 10% have one employee
• 37% earned between $1-$10,000 in gross revenue in 2015 while only 10% earned between $50,000-$100,000.
• The most popular job description was “pattern designer” at 17% with teaching craft and selling products online a close second and third. Producing YouTube videos and podcasts was the least likely job description.

We so appreciate the detailed responses many members wrote in reply to the open response question, “What content would you like to see from Craft Industry Alliance?” Thank you! We’ve read and reviewed each response.
