Vogue Knitting and Knit Simple

SOHO Publishing will no longer publish Knit Simple Magazine. Vogue Knitting Magazine will now have a reduced publication schedule, going from five issues per year to two. SOHO has laid off much of the magazine staff, many of whom will have their last day on Friday.

CEO Carrie Kilmer said in an email yesterday that the company plans to continue with its other divisions. “We will continue to host retreats and run in-person and virtual Knitting LIVE! events,” she wrote. “Furthermore we will continue to publish books.”  Virtual Knitting Live is taking place May 11-18 and includes classes taught by well-known knitting instructors, a keynote by Clara Parkes, live interviews conducted by Kristy Glass, plus vendors in a virtual marketplace.

In January of this year, SOHO closed down Yarn Market News, the trade magazine for the yarn and fiber community due to a reduction in advertising revenue.

* Note: Our newsletter originally stated that Vogue Knitting would cease publication entirely. This was incorrect.
