Get on the Map! Mapping creatives dedicated to sustainability and diversity.
I had the honor of serving as a Global Fellow with the Goldin Institute from March – November 2024. We met weekly on zoom for a training on creating projects using Asset Based Community Development tools to empower our communities. My project led to creating a website that seeks to map creatives engaged in sustainability and cultural diversity, Creative PlaceMakers.
The website uses categories and tags to create general groupings of creative passions that also show up as a pin on a global map. The mapping is a useful tool for neighborhoods and cities engaged in Creative Placemaking, along with organizations who wish to map their communities. Users can also find people who are local to them, who might be on a travel route or who might want to connect online. The site was launched in November 2024.
There are several craft categories to choose from, along with Pattern Design and others in fashion and teaching. If you join, please use Craft Industry Alliance as a tag if you are a member over here.
Membership is $25/year and you do not have to be a professional or business to join. Joining is easy. Create and account and then go to the Add Listing page and fill out the fields. You will be able to edit at any time. Submissions are held for review.
