Looking for 1–2 Yarn & Textile Product Photographers (Long-Term Freelance)
I’m with KnitPal, a growing yarn craft brand, and we’re looking to connect with 1–2 experienced product photographers who understand how to photograph yarn, textiles, and craft kits.
This is a long-term freelance/contract relationship, not a one-off shoot.
What kind of experience matters most
We’re specifically looking for someone with hands-on experience photographing yarn or soft textile products, who understands:

How to shape and style yarn so it looks natural (not stiff or flattened)

How to show texture, softness, loft, and stitch definition
-
How to photograph multi-component kits (yarn + tools + accessories) clearly and accurately
The kind of work you’ll be doing

Photograph yarn skeins, balls, swatches, and finished pieces

Photograph yarn and craft kits with multiple components
-
Create Amazon-style product photos, including clean white-background hero images
-
Shoot lifestyle images, including products worn or used on a model
-
Capture detail shots that highlight texture, construction, and drape
Logistics & flexibility
-
This role can be remote (products shipped to you)

Being in the Greater Los Angeles Area is a bonus, not a requirement

We’re open to project-based or hourly working styles
Bonus skills (nice to have)

Image editing and retouching skills

Experience preparing images for eCommerce listings

Familiarity with Amazon image requirements
