It all started with an impulsive promise back in 1983. When quilting teacher Roberta Horton told quilt-shop owner Carolie Hensley that she wanted to write a book on Amish quilts, but hadn’t found a publisher yet, Carolie quickly said that she and her husband Tom would publish Roberta’s book. The Hensleys launched C&T Publishing from their garage, with a catalog of exactly one book: Roberta Horton’s An Amish Adventure.
Over 30 years later, C&T Publishing is now run by Carolie and Tom’s sons, Todd and Tony, who are assisted by a staff of more than 50 employees (you can see the entire hardworking team in the photo above!). The C&T catalog contains more than 800 titles and over 300 products to inspire creativity. The list of C&T authors includes many winners of the coveted Silver Star and virtually every other major quilting award. These brilliant authors envision new styles and invent new movements.
In fact, C&T Publishing has become the industry leader for providing exceptional books and products to the quilting, paper craft, and fiber art markets throughout the United States and internationally.
C&T Publishing has come a long way since our humble beginnings, but our staff and authors continue to live out our mission statement every day: Innovate. Educate. Create. We hope that you, our readers, will join us!

Our Imprints:
Stash Books’ focus is to deliver great content from authoritative, trend-forward authors that promote the love of fabric and sewing. Stash titles are offered at lower price points and boast inspirational photography and beautiful, clean graphics.
FunStitch Studio books strive to instill a love of the handmade in the next generation and encourage kids to “Stitch Your Art Out,” as the tagline goes. The titles in this imprint aim to be both inspirational and educational, including the basics like sewing, quilting, and embroidery, but also emphasizing the importance of building skills while having fun creating.

Kansas City Star Quilts is an established and popular line of quilting books and products acquired by C&T Publishing in 2015. Their first book was a collection of classic ‘Star Quilt’ patterns that sold out in two weeks. Then and now, Kansas City Star Quilt books embody technical accuracy, embrace many sources of inspiration, and celebrate the history and fun of quilting.

PatternSpot.com is an online marketplace for pattern designers to upload and directly sell their PDF downloadable designs to avid quilters and sewists.
