Craftsy Unlimited, the subscription streaming portion of Craftsy.com, will rebrand as Bluprint on July 17. The new site will be available at mybluprint.com. Bluprint will include the 1,300 classes currently available on Craftsy Unlimited in areas such as knitting, sewing, crochet, and quilting. It will also include new content that a source close to the company described a “broader and different.” Some of the new content categories will be dance, fitness, yoga, writing, and home decorating.
In a letter sent to instructors today CEO John Levisay stated that the new interface “will make it easy for members to fit creativity into their busy schedules & varying skill levels” and will include articles, exclusive series, and in-depth classes. Levisay went on to say that instructors can expect to see major national marketing campaigns for Bluprint soon in partnership with Craftsy’s parent company, NBCUniversal.
Craftsy.com will continue to operate and customers will be able to access the a la carte classes they’ve previously purchased and continue to buy classes, patterns, and supplies as they do now.
I just received an email about this. It was rather basic I thought. I did find the wording quite strange when it says ‘You can continue to keep the individual classes that you purchased’. Well I should hope so; is there a chance that one day I may not continue to keep them? They were purchased on the basis that they are mine forever. I assumed that it was my life time, not theirs but now I am not so sure. I feel like I need reassurance on this. What happens if Craftsy comes to an end for whatever reason?
I am reluctant to invest more money in a product that I don’t physically have. I find the pricing frustrating with their never-ending ‘sales’ which are marketed to me practically every day. The ‘sale’ price is about right for the product but the inconsistency and the presentation of ‘normal’ pricing (expensive) is not persuasive. I have also found the classes to be quite basic and even had to look at YouTube videos for better explanations or even camera angels. There are a couple of consistently good instructors but they are the exception I have found. Will the standard drop further with all the new classes?
I don’t think there is much that will interest me about Blueprint and changing the name is alienating. Craftsy is a known name, the new one has no conceptual meaning to me personally. A name change seems like it might be a gamble.
A monthly subscription just doesn’t work for me because for that I would need continual new classes to view and a higher standard overall. I have watched a lot of videos and didn’t show up for the last freebie weekend as there was nothing new to offer. Classes need to extend past those for beginners – what happens next?
You will find much better content and classes over at Creative Live. Much higher level and better value and it comes with lots of extras usually. I am photographer and have bought many of their classes. it seems CL caters to advanced amaterurs and higher levels as well as beginners whereas craftsy seems to only cater to the lower end beginner level of classes and so their content is very basic in my opinion for the most part. it depens on the teacher of course.
I wonder if rebranding and adding new content in things like dance & yoga & writing means a shift in the focus of the new subscription service? I have Craftsy classes & cannot see a use for a subscription service since the only way it makes financial sense is if I want to see new content every month.
I will be downloading my purchased classes so I can have them forever. Unfortunately, when downloaded, make of the playback features are not available at MP4 files. This company name change makes this company appear unstable and I am reluctant to purchase future classes. GOODBYE CRAFTSY, WAS NICE WHILE IT LASTED.
I know from time to time companies change their name for what ever reason why blueprint? Personally I don’t feel it says anything about crafts & that’s what it’s supposed to represent, I think the new name is dreadful. I am having trouble finding it on the web also.
I joined Craftsy. Com a few years ago and attended some classes which were given as mine ‘forever’ I have tried to reach these patterns and my account but have been rejected as not valid.
I have been being charged for Crafts y every month and yet I am unable to find the replacement app for Android. I have Benn unable to access for at least 9 months. Please refund the amount I have not used and stop all further transactions effective immediately.
We are not affiliated with Craftsy. For customer service about your Craftsy account, you’ll need to reach out to Craftsy directly.

I really dislike the new name also. Also a monthly subscription payment is not possible for me. I am heartbroken over these changes. Craftsy was perfect for me.
If it’s not broken don’t fix it
I am so happy to see the comments here. They just banned access in Nigeria without an emails or explanation. I had to contact customer care who told me they have decided to stop business in Nigeria and they will refunding us for classes purchased. And they will be emailing any pdf files in the next 2-3 weeks. We are still waiting for that refund.
It looks like you can only download your purchased classes to ios, not to android devices. I’ll have to borrow my husband’s or friend’s iphone, ugh! And you have to download each lesson separately within the class. Maybe I can have my studio helper to do this for me, I don’t have that kind of time…
Has anyone downloaded their classes yet?
It looks like they are turning Craftsy into a lifestyle brand, more like HGTV. Also, was very disappointed to see that two of their new videos, Re: Fashion and The Stitch Dimension, feature actress who sew and knit rather than sewers and knitters who can speak on camera. Could be the NBC Universal mentality of mainstream TV
I totally agree with you all. I feel the same. The feel is dumbed down and presentation rather than content based. I am not paying for that. I didn’t mind paying for good instructors, this feel so different. Another Goodbye.
As a Craftsy instructor, I know that I speak for many of us when I say that we feel completely shafted and that Craftsy under NBC is not the same company that we signed contracts with. I couldn’t be more disappointed and wish there was a way I could take my class off of the platform.
I know this is an old comment. But I’ve watched complaint after complaint and many disappointed users all over social media expressing negativity on the craftsy change. I’m one of those people! I think it is time for someone to start a ‘new’ craftsy. One that is VERY similar to the old. 🙂
I totally agree I’m very disappointed because I had purchased some classes on cake decorator with mike and all 5 classes are gone but only one it in my library what can I do about getting a refund
Please contact Bluprint customer service directly.
I don’t like the Bluprint, none of my craftsy classes play on my account and that is very frustrating cause I PAID for them and can’t watch them….. Put it back to what is was. IF IT ISN’T BROKE DON’ T FIX IT.
I can watch the preview videos but not the lessons. What good does that do?
I dont even know whats going on….but it makes one wonder if they should join, just by the responses. I paid for a lesson in painting by Carol Nelson. I guess I better check to see if it still plays. Thanks for the feedback but it appears that SOMEONE needs to rethink this bluprint thing.
This name change is seriously confusing, not only because “Bluprint” sounds more like “blueprint”, which is a specific kind of drawing, namely floor plans and other drawings for architecture and interior design – none of which are even included in the course offerings.
I finally figured out that the name change appears to only apply to Craftsy Unlimited – the monthly subscription version of Craftsy – and not to the normal Craftsy website. The Craftsy site does link to Bluprint the same way it linked to Craftsy Unlimited, though, and the sign-on credentials are the same.
Another confusing issue is that there isn’t even a redirect from the CraftsyUnlimited.com url to the new MyBluprint.com! What business on earth does that these days??
Even the url with the “my” added to it is seriously confusing. I mean, who would ever think of that, either!
It remains to be seen what all of this will ultimately result in, but like other commenters, frankly, I am not encouraged at all by the apparent shift of focus – or the insane difficulty even finding the site.
This reminds me too much of what happened to Food.com (which was previously something like Zazzle) now that it’s turned into Genius Kitchen – another really ridiculous name that has only turned a fabulous site into yet another social media free-for-all not at all focused on recipes as it has always been – and actually planning to phase out that central aspect.
“Programming” for children and families? That does not sound at all like the classes we all know and love; it sounds more like the same sort of meaningless video and social media noise and blather that “Genius” Kitchen is spewing.
Go away, NBC, unless you can actually serve up more of what Craftsy actually exists for. We don’t want your garbage “programming.”
Wow! I am shock! I am just finding out about this searching the web. I didn’t receive a email about the changes. I have purchased 38 classes. The majority of my classes are designers.
Me either. Just got a large postcard in the mail a couple days ago describing the bluprint program, so went on line to find out what it was. Lo and behold it is the now sold-out Craftsy. it would have been good to have a heads up and an explaination as to how previous craftsy class purchases will be available. Very poor transmission of information NBC
So happy to know I’m not the only one feeling like this. I have absolutely zero interest in whatever this new Bluprint format is supposed to be. I’m so not into the classes, or content, that I keep getting emails about. Love the original Craftsy, and I hope they don’t mess with that.
Wow. I had all the feelings noted above. I had to dig around to find out what I was being billed for. I didn’t recognize the name. So disappointed. Anyone know if there is a platform similar to the original Craftsy out there? If not, it looks like YouTube for me. 🙁
Creative Live is your best best.
Then why are some of them on the Youtube.
Not impressed. I can watch videos on Blueprint, but can’t find the download content. Not an exceptional name change. Had trouble finding Blueprint and certainly not interested in the other classes that they are expanding to. Was there not enough interest in the classes in the original site to make it financially profitable? I just can’t fathom why the changes. It was fine the way it was. I won’t be renewing my subscription. Thank you, Stephen, for your suggestion to try Creative Live. I will check it out.
They don’t post all comments. Maybe have a class on what to say so they will post negetive comments too.
I can’t access my Craftsy classes. I can’t login. I have quite a number of them. How do I get them back?
Hi, Karen. You’ll have to contact Craftsy.
I purchased 112 Craftsy classes over a period of 7 years. Now, I can’t even log in to watch them. I can’t download some of the patterns. I am frantic.! Will I lose my investment to learn how to knit and crochet? Please help!
You’ve reached Craft Industry Alliance. We are a trade association for craft business owners. We write about Craftsy (now called Bluprint), but are not affiliated with them. If you need customer support from Craftsy you’ll need to reach out to them directly.
How do I reach out directly to them. I have over 79 classes that I cannot access.
You should go to the Bluprint website to find their customer service phone number.
We have and it looks like we all got ripped off I believe if you took over some how know it’s your problem if you can reach out to them for all of us here I think we could maybe breathe cuz we have money lost
I just want to know how to download my classes so that I don’t lose them before I can watch them. Won’t be buying any more classes but hate to lose what I have paid for. Not tech savey at all so this is a problem for me.
I would suggest reaching out to Craftsy customer service directly.
Not happy with the changes. The old Craftsy was good. Just sounds like a way to increase revenue for the company. The loyal customers are being short changed.
Very, very unhappy with this change. The Craftsy platform operated perfectly, so why change it?
I own quite a few classes and want to be able to keep them forever, as I was promised. Don’t make something difficult for your previous supporters as they are your base.
I never even got a notice that they had changed. i wnet to watch one my class on my pc and couldn’t find the craftsy site at all i had to good where craftsy went to find it.
I just went to go get one of my classes to view and found I couldn’t access it online. I signed in on this new blueprint and it brought up a page, but will not let me access anything without making the decision to subscribe with a monthly cost or pay for the year. I am not subscribing to any service that I would not use monthly as well as I can get most of what I need on YouTube for free, but really liked that I had a place to buy classes and keep them safe forever so they said. I did try my phone app and was able to log into the old craftsy and can see my classes, but how do I download them and do the videos come with them when I download. I am really saddened by Craftsy changing and will not be signing on to Blueprint.
I have just found out about the change. I am extremely frustrated I have paid for a number of classes some I had not watched. I want to know how I can get my classes downloaded. Changing the name is one thing but keeping your customers from obtaining what they have already paid for is ridiculous. That is bad business and since NBC is doing the change I will have to band anything NBC.
I had bought some times ago some classes and they were supposed to stay mine to look at for ver i cannot find them anymore and am therefor quite unsatisfied
can you give me an explanation
thank you
Please contact Bluprint customer service directly. Thank you.
AsI signed and paid for a never ending service and as the promise is not fullfilled I want my money back right away
Please contact Bluprint customer service directly. We are not affiliated with Craftsy or Bluprint and I’m afraid we can’t help you.
So what happened to all the classes that I purchased? So you just lose them? This is disappointing… I’ll pass.
Bought a kit called Boundless.
Never got the pattern.
Help
It is now a month pass the announcement that BLUPRINT/CRAFTSY is shutting down, i havent received an email from them about my 94 forever Craftsy classes. Personally i donot think we should have to now purchase software in order to down load our classes, especially in today’s economy. I have gone through this twice before with other websites shutting down and these websites let you download your forever classes. All it took was logging in and downloading. Why is it not possible to do that now since shut down is nearing rapidly.
Where are all my sewing classes that I bought from Craftsy?
