Bio

Although trained as an engineer, I started smocking over 30 years ago, for my 4 children. I have attended classes at the Imperial Bordados Embroidery Factory in Madeira, Portugal, and through The Royal School of Needlework. A nationally known teacher/designer for not only smocking, but Heirloom sewing, embroidery and construction, I teach for American Sewing Guild groups, Smocking Arts of America guilds, and seminars around the country. I write for Classic Sewing Magazine, Threads Magazine, as well as being a guest on Fit 2 Stitch. Creative Needle and Sew Beautiful Magazines have also carried my designs and articles. I own and design the Classic Couture Pattern line, as well as Vaune, which carries Petite Piping Cord, fine fabrics, laces and embroideries, German Interfacing, DOVO scissors, floche, coton a broder #25, and Cosmo floss.
