Personal Bio | I'm an experienced writer specializing in copy that conveys personality, and I have a knack for editorial vision and organization. Having worked entrepreneurially, with clients, as a volunteer and on staff, in a variety of communications media and always to deadline, I work best to a grand vision when all people involved assume the best course is to question the way things have always been done. |

Description | Nine Ten is a publishing company focused on the Canadian fibre and textiles arts, crafts and industry, of which I am co-founder and publisher. As well, I’m a writer, editor, teacher and speaker, focusing on topics related to crafts, creativity and having fun making stuff. My latest book is Make It Mighty Ugly; it’s an extension of my project called Mighty Ugly, through which I lead workshops and give talks that help people combat their creative demons and have more fun making stuff. As a freelance editor, I work with self-publishers to make their publications – from blog posts to craft patterns to full-length books – outstanding. I speak at conferences large and small about embracing the messy, ugly parts of the creative process, and I teach crochet at Craftsy. |
