Shutterfly has no option but to make Spoonflower even better. There’s a ton of POD fabric companies that share similar values about sustainability and ethical workplaces, fair pay etc… it is an exciting time a […]

I have a pretty strong opinion about this -if the intended goal of the artist is to make a profit off her images, they are objectifying her and turning her into a commodity for personal gain that she did not agree […]

I’d like to follow up on some comments I made earlier about how the AC Moore promotions did not mention the two sales streams requirement. I’d like to share that after I sent and inquiry to Zibbets, the cus […]

When will you tell people they can’t actually use the ACMoore marketplace unless they pay for two sales streams to be managed by Zibbets? Maybe I missed it in the interview?

I was excited to find an opportunity to avoid commission and extra fees – Etsy ran me into the hundreds some months. However I am extremely disappointed to find out that the advertising for the AC Moore […]

I’m very interested in the data as Etsy grows. I’m more likely to stay an enthusiastic Etsy seller if the data says the new customers they reach are returning again and again. I’ve learned through the sales […]

I loved this article, but the comments seem to show that there is a great deal of judgmental attitudes towards people of different financial classes, sewing abilities…even intellect as it relates to an ability […]

Very interesting. When I started sewing, around 1988, going to Joanns and leafing through the pattern books was a great outing. Now, those books don’t appeal to me at all. Takes too much time to flip through w […]

Very good explanation! I discovered a few months ago that I just want a job – but I never knew what to call it or how to explain why I stopped all the intense business stuff and big plans I had to scale. This […]

I don’t like how it automatically creates a description that says “handmade item.” I know there is a popular argument that technically everything is handmade, but for shops like mine where literally my hands make everything I think my customers would feel mislead if I called the Printful items handmade. I think I’m going to go ahead and give…[Read more]

Have any of you been following what’s been happening a lot lately with other surface pattern designers? Our designs are getting lifted from the internet and sold all over the place and then the wrath of social media really hits hard for a few days after it the perpetrators get called out, it’s like they send minions out to troll the people…[Read more]

My shop is on vacation for a few days, but I’m currently playing with Printful and adding listings to my shop. I don’t know if I will delete them before I open up again or if I’ll follow through. This would be the first time I’d ever sell anything other than something I’m creating with my own hands in my Etsy shop. I’m a wee bit nervous that my…[Read more]

Hi Daisy eyes. I can help you in great detail if you’d like or help you set up a template for your designs.
To answer the size issue – your design has to be exactly the size you want it when printed at least 150 dpi. You can create you design any dpi over 300 then adjust it on Spoonflower using the change dpi box.

I use Ponoko. Anything that I can draw with vector line art in Illustrator, they cut. Line colors tell them what area to cut and what to engrave. They have clear or pretty colors to choose from.

Currently my business is operated like well organized but on-demand circus – where most days I don’t even get a shower until late at night, if at all (gross but true). If somebody says that they want something, I sell it, I make it, and I pretty much always have about 3-4 weeks of work to do – assuming I sew about 6 hours a day and nothing like…[Read more]
