Nancy Nally commented on the post, Epic, Apple, and Our Small Knitting App 1 year, 7 months ago
Not a knitter, but the monopolistic grip that Apple has on the app market (and the arbitrary way they deal with developers) must be confronted. Thanks for standing up to Goliath. Hopefully you start action in the […]

No craft market die cut machine is going to cut 5 mil stainless. You are going to need a laser cutter or other industrial equipment to cut that type of material.

Also, if you are still using cartridges to run your Cricut machine, the information you have about the machine’s capabilities is quite out of date. Cricut hasn’t manufactured a machine that runs on cartridges in […]

Not true that Brother is the only company licensed for Disney designs. Cricut also has Disney licensed designs.

You are correct that you can’t share designs made with uploaded files. That is probably necessary to avoid legal liability because Cricut has no way of knowing whether the person uploading has the authority to […]

Nancy Nally commented on the post, Show Report: CHSI Stitches–Europe's Largest Art, Craft, and Needlecraft Trade Show 6 years, 5 months ago
Stitches can’t actually lay claim to being the biggest crafts trade fair in Europe anymore, at least not based on the exhibitor number in this article. Creativeworld, in Frankfurt, had 344 exhibitors this year […]

Nancy Nally commented on the post, I'm Not Productive in My Home Office — Is a Coworking Space the Answer? 7 years, 6 months ago
I belong to a coworking space in the small suburban community that I live in (60,000 people?). It’s not a commute to get to it. It’s in the heart of the business district just 5 minutes from my house where I go […]

Hi Marjie! I’ll be definitely looking at the Designer displays, as my work has me engaged in hiring designers in the past year. I’ll be sure to look for your work when I visit the DIA section! DecoArt is also on my list to talk to as I’ve been doing a lot of painting lately. They’re going to be next door neighbors with one of my two clients that…[Read more]

I’m wondering how many people here are just operating on a Schedule C, versus using a structured LLC? Does your business have operating and ownership documents?

Maeri, I spoke quite frequently for CHA at their U.S. shows for a few years. Back then, they did pay my expenses to travel. But the last few years they seem to be using only a few big headline speakers that they will have to pay and then filling the program with people they can get for free because they want to promote their businesses.
There…[Read more]

Nancy Nally replied to the topic What to do with Accounts Pre-launch in the forum Business Questions 7 years, 10 months ago
If the company hasn’t officially launched yet, there’s no need for anything other than posting periodic coming soon updates with progress reports on milestones as the launch nears, and information that might be needed by people who are following the account.
Putting out noise for the sake of noise will make you look worse than measured,…[Read more]

I will be there as a member of the media for my websites, as well as working for my social media clients Buttons Galore & More and Photo Play Paper.

Instagram specifically does not allow posting from any desktop (or anything but the IG mobile app) as part of their service. They consider that limitation to be a “feature” precisely because it makes it difficult for marketers using the service and keeps things more “authentic”.
However, you can get images from your desktop to your phone easily…[Read more]

It’s my understanding you can’t actually post from the desktop on Hootsuite. All it does is schedule a reminder to be sent to you, which you then have to actually post from your phone.

Nancy Nally replied to the topic Card reader for my phone in the forum Business Questions 7 years, 10 months ago
I worked a bunch of Scrapbook Expo events this year for Cricut. It seemed every merchant on the show floor was using the Square register system. I personally have a Square reader that I use occasionally and like. They are rolling out the chip card reader, which is great since it allows you to not be liable for fraud with a chip card (if you accept…[Read more]
