Pattymac_Knits commented on the post, Lion Brand Yarn Studio Announces Closure 3 years, 7 months ago
This literally makes me cry. I dreamt of visiting them in person to see all the gorgeous yarns not available here. I am so sad that will never happen. As much as I appreciate the convenience of ordering online, it […]

Pattymac_Knits commented on the post, How Tinkknit is Helping Destashers Find a Good Home for Unwanted Yarn 3 years, 10 months ago
I love this! I’ve been attempting to sell off my yarn stash via etsy, and I’ve sold a few things. But not a lot. I don’t knit as much as I used to, so I want to downsize the collecting significantly. I will […]

Pattymac_Knits commented on the post, Beyond the RASKOG: 10 IKEA Hacks for Your Craft Studio 4 years ago
Actually, I did a whole video on how I selected my pieces AND how I installed it. IKEA is a little light in terms of installation instructions, so I show exactly how I did it. I’m doing one for my bedroom next to […]

Pattymac_Knits commented on the post, Beyond the RASKOG: 10 IKEA Hacks for Your Craft Studio 4 years ago
I literally just put in my first IKEA pegboard from the SKADIS collection. I use it to organize sewing odds and ends. I used it as it is, but you pick all your pieces individually, so I guess each one is a hack. […]

Pattymac_Knits commented on the post, Cosplay Attracts a New Demographic to Sewing 4 years, 6 months ago
I knitted a scarf that I was able to replicate from an episode of Kimmy Schmidt and found a woman locally who dressed up as Kimmy for a cosplay. I found her through instagram, and it was a miracle of sorts that […]

Pattymac_Knits commented on the post, Bluprint Sends Out Instructor Survey Intended to Improve Communication 4 years, 8 months ago
As a consumer, I love Bluprint. I have been with Craftsy since the beginning, but have not bought classes with them for some time because the last couple were not great (for me) so I did not want to invest in […]

Pattymac_Knits commented on the post, A Taxing Endeavor: Navigating State Sales Tax in a Post-Wayfair World 4 years, 9 months ago
I hope they are going to come up with something simpler, because this is insane for a small shop. I’m one person working in a spare bedroom selling a few mugs on Etsy. So far, I am fine. But 200 sales is not a […]

Pattymac_Knits commented on the post, Bluprint and Other Changes at Craftsy Have Eroded Instructors’ Faith in the Platform 5 years, 1 month ago
I have been with Craftsy since the beginning. The Knit Lab classes taught me how to knit. Even though I took some lessons in person, the LYS was 65 miles away at the time, and I would be confused by the time I got […]

They recently updated the JoAnn Fabrics closest to me and it is amazing!! It’s nothing like this concept store, unfortunately….but it’s a DRASTIC improvement over the former store which was tiny and depressing. […]

Pattymac_Knits commented on the post, Member Perspective: Why You Should Consider Using an Instagram Bot 6 years, 3 months ago
Yeah, it’s kind of disappointing to accept it. I think once you get your number up to a certain level and you have a good critical mass of followers, it does help. But….the stories are where it happens. And […]

Pattymac_Knits replied to the topic blogging mojo gone – now what? in the forum Business Questions 6 years, 3 months ago
That’s great advice Stephanie! I’m kind of sick of my blog, too. My numbers have absolutely plummeted since March and it’s very hard to be excited about it. It’s so time consuming for me to write and take pictures and I’m starting to wonder why I bother. I’m actually kind of depressed over the whole thing. I had approached it as a magazine style…[Read more]

There are not enough hours in the day to like enough and comment enough on other users to get anywhere on Instagram now without the assistance of a bot. I have used like bots in the past and I grew like crazy with […]

I don’t know how to feel about this. I know there’s a crafting tv show coming soon, so maybe there’s a tie in. I’m glad to see crafts getting so much air time, but what does that mean for tiny little websites like […]

Pattymac_Knits commented on the post, Etsy Launches New Craft Supply Marketplace Etsy Studio 6 years, 5 months ago
I think $71 is a bit spendy to make that little pom pom garland. I have to go and look to figure out why it would be so expensive. Most of the people I encounter who are interested in crafting are looking to do it […]

Will Do Stephanie! I’ve been in clean up and reorganize mode in real life and on the website, but I’m starting to think about doing projects again. I’ve hardly made anything in several months, and that’s not very much fun!
It’s so nice when people actually make our things!!!!! What a concept!

@swoodsonsays Stephanie, I just wanted to say how ADORABLE I think your Pocket Kitties felt craft project is!! I pinned it from Craftgawker and just put it together that you are here when I saw it on the CIA Tribe board. I am looking at making some this summer as a “pattern review” type post. It also gives me the opportunity to use felt from a…[Read more]

I’m super excited about this! Cant wait to put it together. The test knit fits me remarkably well. I may have to model this one so we can get it out, so I hope that’s ok. I generally wait until I have several pieces before I book someone so it makes the photo shoot worthwhile. I will photograph it later. I want to get it out there while the…[Read more]

YES!!! Ship it to me right away. It’s very cold here next week, but clear.
I just started a video podcast, so I can mention you there as well. Oh this is exciting!
The test knit I made is only 76g in Thick and Quick. I knit it flat on 15s and seamed the sides together. I can do a blog post on it to trade blog traffic. Thanks!

Oh yayy! Yes, that’s me. The reception to the kitties has been so much fun, I don’t think I’ve ever had so many people actually make one of my tutorials. If you link to my post, I’m sure it will “ping” on my radar, I’ll be happy to share it around on social media 🙂 Can’t wait to see, thanks for the kind words!
