In this episode of the podcast I talk with Stacey Trock and Stefanie Goodwin-Ritter.
Stacey Trock is my frequent guest on the show. She designs crochet patterns for adorable and huggable stuffed animals. Her patterns are easy to follow and take the mystery out of crochet. She is also a teacher on Craftsy, and nationally, and is the author of three books. You can find Stacey online at freshstitches.com.
Stefanie has been knitting since 2004; she added crochet and handspinning to her repertoire along the way, and blogs about her fibery exploits at handmadebystefanie.blogspot.com. Her day job as senior account manager at Stitchcraft Marketing (formerly the Wool Wide Web) allows her to work with awesome folks in the yarn industry and enables her craft obsession exponentially in the process!
In the first part of the show we talk about our current projects. Learn how you can work with Stefanie to get some neat products to review on your blog (her email address is stefaniegr (at) stitchcraftmarketing (dot) com), get the inside scoop on Stacey’s crochet kit club, and hear about the new patterns I’m working on.
In the second part of the show we talk out our picks for awesome things we are enjoying right now. These include apps, books, tools, clubs, and more.
Stefanie recommends:
Stacey recommends:
- Blog to Win Business
- What the Most Successful People Do on the Weekends
- Day of the Triffids (and we get the plot of The Handmades Tale terribly confused)
- Dymo printer
- being upfront about conversational ticks that bothers you and cognizant of what might bother your customers
I recommend:
- Toca Boca Hair Salon
- Friday Night Dinner
- Fantasktic for migrating your blog from Typepad to WordPress
- Wild Olive Spring Stitching Club

I love producing the Craft Industry Alliance podcast and I’ve got amazing guests lined up through mid-May. If you enjoy listening to the show, would you take a moment to rate and review the show in iTunes? It helps the show get found by new listeners and would mean so much to me. Thank you and I hope you enjoy this episode!
Abby! You can use Paypal multi-order shipping for your bigcartel sales and print first class postage from there. It automatically imports all your sales and you can set up custom sizes and weights.
Oooh, thank you so much for explaining in a bit more detail about Fantasktic. Although I’ve read your blog for the last 7 years, this is the first time I’ve listened to your podcast. Very fun, entertaining as well as having some great tips and favorites.
I’ve been listening to these for a while now and really enjoy them. Have left a review on iTunes – hope it helps 🙂
I appreciate that so much! Thank you for listening and for taking the time to leave a review. It really helps the show get seen by new people on iTunes and every review makes a difference so thank you!
Thanks for listening! The show is fairly new. I’ve been recording episodes twice a month since the start of 2014 when I really decided to go for it. I like how ti’s developed and I have some terrific guests lined up through the start of the summer. I’m excited!
Thanks, Caro! I got your email and I’m setting it up now. Whew!
