Today I have a mini episode of theCraft Industry Alliance podcast to share with you. This episode is about Craft Industry Alliance, the trade association that I co-founded with Kristin Link of Sew Mama Sew. I have Kristin on with me and we talk about what exactly Craft Industry Alliance membership offers and who it’s best for.

Craft Industry Alliance

We launched Craft Industry Alliance in October and have had such a terrific first eight months. We’re have over 800 members to date! Tomorrow we’ll publish the 18th issue of our digital journal. Each issue includes three professionally written articles plus a downloadable resource. We’ve held six webinars (and this month our seventh will be with Vanessa Vargas Wilson and will focus on partnering with brands). Back issues of the journal and previously recorded webinars are available to members any time.

The community has coalesced so well. Members openly ask questions and help one another in the private forums and make connections (including finding paid work) in our “business to business connections” forum which is like an online classifieds section.

Current members include Susanne Woods of Lucky Spool, Amy Marson of C&T publishing, Spoonflower, Nancy Zeiman, Pokey Bolton, Melanie Falick, the CEO of the Craft and Hobby Association, Mary Fons, Jenny Rushmore, Jen Beeman, Rae Hoekstra, and Workroom Social among so many others including designers, makers, suppliers, shop owners, and pro bloggers in all areas of craft. Together we are so strong.
