Interesting people find interesting stuff. That’s my theory, anyway.
The Craft Industry Alliance podcast is developing into conversations with designers and crafters in the industry about the things they love, work-related and otherwise. I’ve got amazing guests lined up for the new year and I’m really excited to discover all sorts of new and amazing things from talking with them.
In this episode of the podcast, I talk with Wendi Gratz and Stacey Trock about all sorts of things we love. Our picks include books, TV shows, tools, recipes, graphic design tools, apps, and a great charity.
If you don’t know Wendi yet she designs sewing patterns for softies and quilts. Her patterns have the beginner sewist in mind. She provides tons of step-by-step photos and she’s created a whole library of wonderful videos demonstrating any sewing technique you can imagine. Wendi has a blog and online shop where she sells her patterns and a terrific selection of sewing supplies. And she has a new book out called Creature Camp.
And Stacey is a returning guest on the show. Stacey designs patterns for crocheted stuffed animals. She’s the author of three craft books. She teaches her craft nationally and online and she has a very successful blog, too. Stacey has a really joyous approach towards living a DIY lifestyle and will inspire you to learn all sorts of things besides crochet.
On the left is a mock-up Wendi made in PicMonkey, and on the right is her Flower Beds Quilt. Listen to the show to hear how to create something like this!

Great show with a lot of tips to check out. And I agree with you Abby, Pocket is amazingly good. I use it from my rss reader, my phone and computer browser and then read the articles / posts later when I’m on the train. Or even podcats to listen to later… 🙂
Just catching up on podcasts, really enjoying yours Abby. Thanks for putting the effort into getting them out there for people to enjoy. I’m moving home soon which means lots of mundane work, podcasts will get me through. Cheers!
I’m so glad to hear that, Joanie! Thank you for listening.
Pocket is my new best friend! I use it every single day.
