Who isn’t excited for 2020 to be in the rearview mirror and 2021 to be here? We hope for health, change, peace, and freedom. With change comes new ideas and creative opportunities. If you need to package those new ideas, check out these fun packaging options.
First of all, no one can mention packaging right now without mentioning pouches. Pouches are becoming more and more popular, they’re huge, they’re trending, they’re favored, however you want to put it, they are selling! Pouches come in so many different sizes from short and wide to tall and thin. Seasonal pouches with clear, fun shaped windows offer a creative look while presenting the inside product with style.

Cute, creative, and fun are the words that come to mind when looking at these new Clamp Jar Bags. They are simple, frosted, zipper pouches but have a pre-printed clamp jar design with a blue seal ring. They come in three sizes and a combination pack. Another fun shape is this new Apothecary Shaped Pouch. It offers an elegant, yet durable display of the inserted product. With a frosted or clear front, resealable zipper, and easy to open tear notches, you won’t be disappointed with this inspired design. Most pouches come in stand up or hanging options. They are convenient, easy to use, and food safe. No wonder they are so popular!

Maybe you are looking forward to this new year and want to celebrate with something shimmery, shiny, or pearly – maybe even holographic or iridescent. Take a look at these holographic zipper pouches and flat heat seal bags. The zipper pouches can stand on their own when filled or can be hung for optimal retail space. All of these holographic options are heat sealable. Iridescent Flat Bottom Gusset Bags come in three sizes and are quite eye catching! Gusset bags are a favorite for many reasons, but mostly because they make easy gifts that present products beautifully. These iridescent bags are no different, they are perfect for birthday parties, wedding favors, or for simple thank you gifts. Throw a ribbon or a pre-tied bow on top and the look is complete.

These boxes aren’t just for candy though.Truffles and chocolates fit perfectly in these food safe boxes, but so will wax melts, craft supplies, fishing tackle and more. Get creative with these clear boxes and “wow” the receiver. Weddings and events are going to be big this year. For some extra special packaging, try these 2” x 2” x 2” Glitter Folding Boxes. Pink, Gold, and Silver are the perfect color choices for such a charming box. The best part about this sparkle is that you won’t have a glitter trail following you. These come with a no mess glitter exterior to keep you and the receiver happy. They will soon be available with a decorative clear window as well.

And we need more plastic packaging garbage why?
Very true, Eileen! Why advertise and celebrate adding more plastic waste to kill our beautiful earth?
Agreed! I spend more for my packaging to make sure it is plastic-free, recyclable or compostable. My customers appreciate it.
Hi Deb,
Can I ask what company you use for your packaging? We’re looking to switch to only earth-friendly packaging and are looking for companies. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of options at this point. I’d appreciate your input!
Thanks!
We have a resource for members that compiles eco-friendly packaging and shipping suppliers, a great starting point on your search: https://craftindustryalliance.org/eco-friendly-packaging-shipping-supplies/
You are right, not a lot of options. I did find https://www.clearbags.com/bags/food/eco/eco-stand-up-pouch
And I used any recycled AND recyclable products I can find at Nashville Wraps, Papermart and several others. My suppliers are all over the place 😞 as no one has a good selection of everything I need.
We certainly appreciate your concern for the environment! This article highlights some design options for packaging that can make a memorable impression on your customers. ClearBags offers compostable options in most styles including stand up pouches, heat seal bags, gusset bags, flap seal bags and kraft bags. For another route, they also offer paper boxes made from recycled material. Find all of the eco-friendly options on their site here: https://www.clearbags.com/bags/eco
Thank you! That is helpful. Keep adding those eco friendly options 🤗
Interested in pricing for these bags. Do you have a distributor to canada / ontario……or do you need one?
Thanking you
Hazel
ClearBags does ship to Canada, and no need for a distributor as you purchase directly from them in bulk.
I certainly do understand the benefits to clear pouches and sleeves, but I am firmly planted in the less plastics camp. Any resources or leads on biodegradable or other materials that can do the same job?
Absolutely, so important to consider reducing and reusing! Go to https://www.clearbags.com/bags/eco to see all of the compostable options for clear pouches from ClearBags. Kate, Thanks for your reply. I’m very happy to see the industry is recognizing there is a market for this, and trying to provide products for it. Hopefully they will become more commonplace. I’ll take a look through these options!
This is fantastic, thanks so much!
Not happy at all that more earth friendly packaging is being written about or promoted by CIA,
