Bio

Andrea began making hats after falling in love with the craft during her studies in London, England at The American Intercontinental University, which is now Regents College. After graduating from Western Michigan University, she continued to design in her Lake Michigan hometown of Pentwater, and now currently resides in the quirky city of Ypsilanti, Michigan.

The traditional method of creating hats is standard using the centuries old technique of shaping (blocking) the chosen material on Andrea’s expansive collection of vintage and modern hat blocks.

Andrea’s custom hats and headpieces have ranged from full bridal parties at Michigans famous Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island to the Kentucky Derby, and custom hats for everyday wear.

Andrea is also co-owner of the North American Millinery Group which produces Millinery Meet Up, the largest millinery education event in the US, and The American Institute of Millinery Education, a virtual learning format featuring instructors from around the world in real time. Andrea also teaches millinery classes and is on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Folk School in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
