Bio

Roberta Sproul is following her dream. A fiber artist from her teenage years, she has dabbled in as many of the arts as possible. Knitting, crochet, felting, spinning and weaving have all come easy – tatting was her nemesis until recently! She spent 41 years working in Information Technology for large and small companies, while raising a family as a single mom and teaching knitting to anyone who wanted to learn. She was a test/sample knitter for Berroco for a number of years, and taught knitting and crochet at a yarn shop in Massachusetts. In July of 2018, she retired from her IT “day job” and opened Three Bags Full, a yarn shop and fiber arts store in Cumberland, RI. For the past year she has enjoyed being proprietor, teacher and stockperson at the shop and loved every minute of it. In 2021, the antique house she was renting for the shop was sold, so the shop was move to a wonderful location in Plainville, Massachusetts. A daunting task, yes, but when you are doing something you love, it’s all worth it. She doesn’t think of arriving at the shop as going to work, it’s more like going to Happy Place. At Three Bags Full, Roberta teaches knitting and crochet in her weekly classes and offers workshops in weaving, felting and special projects.
