Mandy Leins of mandalei quilts just wrapped up a blog hop for her new book, Wanderlust Quilts. Mandy asked the hop participants to share places that inspired them creatively. The focus makes the posts unique and amusing, as well as informative. Check out Mandy’s first blog post here.
Becky Campbell of Sewforever Quilting is teaching Innovative Applique which she designed to make turned edge applique easy for everyone. The class is on the new America Quilters Society platform, I Quilt. Becky also created Stitch Fast, which are templates that can be used for EPP, Applique or regular paper piecing. They are reusable over and over until they not longer stick.
Row by Row Experience™ opened the online registration for the 2016 event on November 2nd. Over 200 quilt shops signed up at International Quilt Market in Houston. 2016 will be the sixth year for the summer event that combines the love of quilting, travel and collecting. The goal of Row by Row Experience is to welcome travelers into quilt shops and enjoy the experiences created by independent brick and mortar stores. The event is inclusive and seeks to raise the entire industry. Quilt shops of any size, pattern designers, fabric companies and other industry vendors benefit from the exposure and increased interest in quilting. Check out the website, or contact CIA member, Janet Lutz for more information.

The gray text on white background being used on this page makes it a bit difficult to read (especially for those of us with older eyes!). Would you consider making the text color black to make it a bit easier to read?
Sue, are you on mobile or a computer?
@Sue Bleiweisss what do you think now?
I could barely read this page. I don’t think the age of one’s eyes has much to do with it. There just is not enough contrast. The print is not dark enough. And typing this on the gray background is even worse. Apparently it will be on a lighter background like the comment I am concurring with above when your readers see it..
Sandra, are you on mobile or a computer. It will help us figure out the problem. They have different style sheets.
@sandrahathaway what do you think now?
Much better now. Thank you.
I was using my Apple MacBook Pro computer.
Hi Kristin –
I thought I’d reply here – youngish eyes, on desktop and it is a little hard to read – the main post text’s font, not so much the colour, is very light/thin and so it is kind of hard on the eyes. (I’m on Chrome/Mac latest versions.)
And as I’m writing this I’m noticing the grey background on this comment box with very light/thin text is even harder because of the lack of contrast adding to the thin font.
Hope that helps!
great, thanks!
@Ariane K what do you think now?
I too am using Chrome on a computer and I find this hard to read.
We’re on it, thanks everyone.
