Our Call for Submissions for knitting patterns, essays and illustrations for our Fall / Winter 2025 issue is now open! Deadline is June 23.

For Issue 14 – Forest Respite – we’re exploring the forest! We cannot wait to take a journey with you to enchanted old growth trees, clearings with rays of sunlight filtering through the canopy, tiny mushrooms on mossy logs, and a cozy cabin with a view over the woods.

For Issue 14, we’re looking for…

• Knits that take us through the forest – think sturdy boot socks, layerable cardigans and sweaters, cabled scarves and warm beanies, inspired by the forest floors, its plants, trees and creatures.
• Pieces that we cozy up in when we’ve reached the cabin – a comfy pair of DK-weight socks, a woolly cardigan, a blanket to snuggle up under and a pillow to rest our head on.
• Articles exploring the intersection of nature (especially forests) and making / knitting, the relationship we have with nature, and how nature / forests can help us ground and heal ourselves. We are especially interested in the perspective of folx that are not traditionally associated with nature / outdoors.
• Illustrations and artwork inspired by forests and adventures.
