Social Media Manager & PR Specialist
Job Overview:
The Social Media Manager & PR Specialist is responsible for curating a strong voice and managing content across all social media platforms and leading public relations efforts on select campaigns.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of social media marketing and stellar written and verbal communication skills, possesses above-average design skills and can tell stories across mediums through creative content curation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a regular posting schedule and manage the content for all social channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Ravelry, YouTube, and any others deemed important by the Marketing Director
- Guide public relations efforts, from research to pitching and interview management, when they may apply.
- Decipher social and PR goals for the Marketing Team.
- Assist in the writing and delivery of content for the newsletter and blog when called upon.
- Assist and guide video production and delivery.
- Work closely with the marketing team to align social media messaging goals with overarching goals of the team.
- Track and report social media trends.
- Create and implement strategies for increasing social engagement across channels.
- Use necessary software to track success.
- A passion for and basic understanding of the knitting community.

Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven experience in similar role
- Basic knowledge of traditional and digital marketing tools including Google Analytics and Facebook for Business
- Solid computer skills, including MS Office, Google AdWords, Bloggr
- Proven capacity to work well with others
- Fluid understanding of social media marketing and the motivation to learn on the job.
- A flexible and motivated attitude
- Ability to work under pressure, manage time well and meet deadlines.
