- Risk Assessment : Walk through a brief exercise to understand the risks for their practice and prioritize which hazards are most likely to occur.
- Documentation and Archiving : Discuss the importance of documenting and archiving your artwork and what methods make the most sense for you.
- Business Insurance: Gain a greater understanding of the types of business insurance, what to include in a business commentary, and how to select the best provider.
- Preparedness and Recovery Resources: A brief introduction to CERF+’s studio protector guide to create your own individualized preparedness plan.

About the presenter:
Cameron Baxter Lewis is the Director of Grants and Programs at the Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF+).
CERF+ was started by artists for artists in the craft community as a grassroots mutual aid effort in 1985 and has since emerged as the leading nonprofit organization that uniquely focuses on safeguarding artists’ livelihoods nationwide. CERF+ serves artists who work in craft disciplines by providing a safety net to support strong and sustainable careers. Their core services include education programs, advocacy, network building and emergency relief.
Baxter Lewis has an MA in Public Administration and Emergency Management. He served in the Peace Corps in Suriname and was part of AmeriCorps NCCC deployed to the Gulf Coast for Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts. He currently lives with his wife and two small children in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
