Greetings, Good Folks:
Being a member of the Craft Industry Alliance would please me greatly and assist me with me advance my start-up business, String Beads Theory, LLC.
I create attractive, unique string crafts using a variety of beads which made from glass, metal, wood and plastic. Each string bead craft is anchored by any number of items: a small ceramic hedgehog, a large cross, a miniature pistol; a glass bird, a mirror and a gold, metal heart.
My company was incorporated in September 2020 and I have yet to sell my product (except for a stint at a holiday bazaar in 2016).
This time next year, I plan on being a vendor at the Unitarian Universalist Association General Assembly (UUA GA) to be held at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. That convention is my official “coming out” event.
I have worked my beading craft since 2009. I began crafting my creations as a hobby while residing in Tucson, AZ.
Since moving to Hillsboro, OR in 2012, my joy has been to make String Beads Theory gifts to send to friends and family on the east coast. I current have over 100 craft ready for sale.
It would do my heart good to obtain a scholarship to your impressive organization. Being a member will grant me access to breaking news concerning the craft industry, allow me to peruse your educational library, meet other professionals who craft and advance my creative enterprise.
Thanking you kindly, I am
Barbara A Rhodes, Owner
String Beads Theory, LLC
Thank you for your interest in our scholarship program, Barbara. Your business sounds terrific! There is a link to the official application form in the post. Could you click that and fill out your information there? Thank you so much.
Either Barbara has no reading skills whatsoever to see that there is a form to fill in and put all that information, or she saw a great opportunity to spam your readers with her new business and get some extra free publicity. Either way, I do believe it would be better to delete completly her post rather than keep her advertisement on there for free, or at least edit it and take off all her business details.
Thank you for your feedback, Sarah. We hope you’ll consider supporting our Scholarship Program and our members.
To Everyone it may concern:
I did not initially see the “form” to be filled out as I was overly excited to have located your orgaization and be considered for the scholarship.
And no, I was not attempted to obtain free advertising for my new business.
I do not even have an active website at this time; only a domain name.
Feel free to remove any information that breaches the organization’s protocols.
No slimy intention was present on my part. I see I have a lot to learn about the world of business especially where women are concerned.
Obviously, the Craft Industry Alliance is not the best fit for me.
I will take my good intentions and fabulous energies elsewhere.
And to you, Sarah: Blessings on you day.
I totally understand your feelings and I’d love to connect with you offline. I’ve sent you an email and invite you to respond at your convenience.
